New to CBD? Start here.

Take a breath. Nothing on this page will pressure you, confuse you on purpose, or make you feel behind. By the end you'll know what CBD is, what "zero THC" actually means, why you don't need to fear taking too much, and how to check a lab report yourself.

What CBD actually is

CBD (cannabidiol) is one of over a hundred naturally occurring compounds in the hemp plant called cannabinoids. Your body has its own network of receptors — the endocannabinoid system — involved in things like mood, sleep rhythms, and how you respond to stress. Cannabinoids from plants interact with that system, which is why researchers have been studying them for decades and why so many people describe CBD with words like calm, settled, and taking the edge off.

What CBD is not: it is not marijuana, it is not intoxicating, and it is not a medicine. We don't make medical claims — not because we're hiding something, but because honest companies don't. CBD is a wellness ingredient people build into their routines, the way they might use chamomile tea or a magnesium supplement.

"Zero THC" — what that really means

THC is the cannabinoid in marijuana that gets people high. Federal law allows hemp products to contain up to 0.3% THC — a small amount, but not nothing, and it matters to a lot of people: parents, caregivers, anyone with a drug-tested job, anyone who simply does not want any THC in their body.

Chime & Chill products go further than the legal limit. Every product in our line — including our vape — tests non-detect for THC. "Non-detect" is a laboratory term: when a certified third-party lab in New York State runs the sample through its instruments, no THC shows up at all, down to the smallest amount the machine can measure.

Plainly: you will not get high from these products. Not a little. Not if you take two. That's not marketing — it's chemistry, verified by an independent lab, in writing, for every batch.

The fear of taking too much (and how pre-dosing ends it)

Here's the thing I learned across years behind a dispensary counter: the number one reason people never try CBD isn't skepticism. It's fear of overdoing it. Droppers with tiny measurement lines. Math. "Start with 0.25ml…" Nobody wants homework with their wind-down routine — and nobody anxious about a new product should have to eyeball a serving.

That's why everything we make is pre-dosed. One serving is one unit. Our Oral Solutions come as single servings — you don't measure anything, ever. Our TRIO ChimeCard literally lays out a day on a card: an AM, a PM, and a PMU single, each one a complete, consistent serving. There is no way to accidentally take "too much of a dropper" because there is no dropper.

How to read a COA (lab report) in 90 seconds

A COA — Certificate of Analysis — is a report from an independent laboratory that tested a specific batch of product. Any hemp brand worth your money will show you one. Here's what to check, in order:

  1. The lab's name. It should be a third-party lab — not the brand itself. Ours are NYS third-party labs.
  2. The batch number. It should match the batch printed on your product. A generic COA with no batch match is a yellow flag.
  3. Cannabinoid content. Does the CBD (or CBG, CBN…) amount match the label? Small variances are normal; big gaps are not.
  4. THC line. For our products you should see ND — non-detect. For other brands, check it's under 0.3% and decide if any THC is okay for you.
  5. The date. Recent is better. Labs re-test per batch, not once forever.

If a brand won't show you a COA, walk away. That's the one piece of shopping advice I'll ever give you in bold.

Where to go next

Curious what the different letters mean — CBG, CBN, THCv? The cannabinoid guides cover each one in plain English. Wondering why two products with the same CBD amount can feel different? That's often terpenes. And whenever you're ready, the shop is there — no rush.

Ready when you are.

Every Chime & Chill product is pre-dosed, zero-THC (non-detect), NYS lab tested, and nut-free. No measuring, no guesswork, no high.
